Overview
The Electrical Inspector is tasked with checking electrical installations to confirm they align with approved designs, technical specifications, and required safety standards. This position contributes to overall electrical readiness, quality control, and the integration of systems within a data centre and other critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine electrical installations covering power distribution, cabling, containment, earthing, and lighting systems.
- Check that installation work matches approved drawings, applicable standards, and project specifications.
- Assess and reply to WIRs, MIRs, and RFIs in line with project schedules.
- Observe the installation of equipment such as panels, UPS units, generators, and related interfaces.
- Liaise with OEM vendors and contractors to support EFE/LLI systems integration.
- Assist with electrical testing, commissioning tasks, and readiness for IST.
- Spot quality defects, raise NCRs, and follow through on the closure of observations.
- Keep inspection logs, reports, and other site records up to date.
- Support snagging activities, punch list completion, and handover inspections.
- Make sure all electrical work follows safety requirements and regulatory standards.
Candidate Profile
The role suits an Electrical Engineering graduate with hands-on exposure to electrical inspection and installation supervision. Experience in mission-critical environments or data centre projects is a strong advantage. The ideal candidate should understand LV/MV systems, electrical infrastructure, and safety compliance, and be comfortable working with QA/QC procedures and inspection processes. UPDA certification is preferred, along with strong technical judgment and coordination ability.
