You will work mainly with the IBM WebMethods integration stack and help support reliable release workflows plus dependable environment administration. The role also contributes to improving delivery pipelines and keeping platforms efficient, resilient, and well controlled.

You will partner with development, testing, operations, and architecture teams to simplify processes, strengthen automation, and advance DevOps maturity. Experience in a regulated or controlled environment would be an advantage, along with a continuous-improvement mindset and a focus on high-quality operational support.

Key responsibilities

  • Look after the IBM WebMethods integration platform, including Integration Server, Deployer, and internal/external API Gateway components.
  • Handle build and release activities, along with environment setup and configuration across multiple environments.
  • Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for the platform while working closely with development and QA teams.
  • Deliver day-to-day operational support such as performance monitoring, upgrades, patching, security management, access control, clustering, tuning, incident troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Keep a strong focus on automation and on improving release processes over time.
  • Assist with occasional application releases or urgent incidents in the evenings and at weekends.

Required experience and knowledge

  • At least 3 years of experience in release management, site reliability engineering, or DevOps engineering.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications in relevant areas such as DevOps, Linux administration, CI/CD, or Azure are preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the IBM WebMethods platform and its supporting components.
  • Proven experience delivering containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on use of DevOps tools such as Git, Bash, Python, Ansible, Jira, Bitbucket, and Datadog.
  • Experience administering and deploying applications in Windows and Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
  • Good understanding of APIs, REST/SOAP services, and messaging concepts.
  • Cloud experience with Azure.
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform.
  • IBM webMethods certifications are an advantage.
  • Java development experience is beneficial.

Skills and competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking.
  • Automation-first mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-driven and organised approach to work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical topics clearly and build understanding with others.
  • Strong process improvement and change management capability.

  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
