Role Overview
The Deployment Specialist will handle the planning and execution of software releases, making sure updates move into production smoothly while keeping operational risk and disruption to a minimum.
Core Responsibilities
- Work closely with development, QA, infrastructure, and operations teams to plan, align, and carry out deployments based on release timelines and deployment plans.
- Create, maintain, and improve deployment scripts, automation utilities, and deployment pipelines to reduce manual work, limit errors, and increase speed and reliability.
- Track deployment progress during and after releases, confirm successful completion, and investigate and fix issues that arise during the process.
- Look for ways to strengthen release processes, tooling, and overall deployment methods.
Post-Deployment Duties
- Support activities after release, including validation, performance checks, and incident handling, to help maintain the stability and reliability of the software.
- Help draft release notes that capture the main features, improvements, and fixes included in each deployment.
- Record deployment steps, procedures, best practices, configurations, and changes accurately so audit and compliance needs are met.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required.
Experience
The role calls for 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in software deployment, release management, or a similar area.
