Role Overview
Almoosa Health Group is hiring a Data Analytics Officer to support reporting, dashboarding, analytics, and user support across clinical, operational, financial, quality, and population health areas. The position is based in Al Ahsa, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia and is a full-time onsite role.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and support interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for multiple business areas, including clinical, operational, financial, quality, and population health performance.
- Work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and turn them into practical analytical solutions and clear insights.
- Use SQL, Power Query (M), and DAX to pull, clean, transform, model, and analyze information from different hospital systems and databases.
- Check data quality through validation, reconciliation, and proper documentation of data sources, definitions, and reporting methods.
- Spot trends, gaps in performance, and opportunities for improvement, then share recommendations with leadership and other stakeholders.
- Build dashboards that are easy to use, with thoughtful visuals, navigation, filters, and drill-through features that support decision-making.
- Prepare KPI reports, ad hoc analyses, and data-backed recommendations aligned with team and organizational goals.
- Partner with data engineering and IT teams to fix data quality problems, secure access to source systems, and keep data definitions consistent.
- Protect the confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational information in line with policies, accreditation requirements, and regulations.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the Director, Advanced Data Analytics (ADA).
- Handle service desk and user enablement requests as a major part of the role; for some Officer assignments, this may account for up to 50% of working time.
- Respond to user tickets related to dashboards, reports, and analytics access, including triage, troubleshooting, and resolution within agreed service levels.
Qualifications
- A diploma in a quantitative or analytical discipline such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a similar field.
- A healthcare background in clinical work, public health, health administration, or health informatics is considered an advantage.
- Certifications in Power BI, data analytics, business intelligence, or healthcare informatics are preferred but not mandatory.
- 0 to 4 years of experience as a data analyst, ideally within healthcare environments.
- Strong command of both English and Arabic.
Competencies
Candidates should be comfortable working with modern BI tools, especially Power BI, and should also be open to using comparable platforms such as Tableau, Qlik, or Looker while transitioning to Power BI. The role also requires solid SQL knowledge for basic to intermediate query writing and validation, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, and data modeling. Strong analytical thinking, independent problem-solving, the ability to handle ambiguity, attention to accuracy, good communication, stakeholder management, customer-focused user support, collaboration, adaptability, and the ability to balance multiple priorities are important for success in this position.

This role requires strict confidentiality and careful handling of sensitive data in accordance with organizational policies and applicable standards. The service desk and user enablement component is a significant part of the job and can represent up to half of the role depending on the assigned Officer slot.
