Role Overview

The Cost Control Manager is responsible for protecting project profitability by building, tracking, and steering budgets with precision. This position focuses on producing reliable cost forecasts, monitoring spending patterns, spotting deviations early, and putting in place controls that support efficient use of resources and strong financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed budgets for projects and departments so they remain aligned with the organization’s broader financial objectives.
  • Develop dependable cost estimates that account for expected expenses and possible risks when projecting financial requirements.
  • Continuously review project spending and compare actual costs with approved budgets to maintain control over expenditures.
  • Investigate budget differences, determine the root causes, and suggest corrective measures to reduce overruns.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial updates for senior leaders and stakeholders, including important figures, patterns, and problem areas.
  • Set up and sustain strong cost control processes and tools that improve accuracy and financial discipline.
  • Recognize financial exposure and put mitigation plans in place to reduce the likelihood of overspending and budget impact.
  • Examine contracts and oversee financial compliance, including resolution of any cost-related concerns.
  • Work closely with project managers, finance personnel, and other stakeholders to keep financial decisions aligned.
  • Look for opportunities to strengthen cost control methods and implement improvements that enhance financial management.
  • Assist with HSE initiatives, take part in safety awareness efforts, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in line with company and IMS requirements.

Experience Requirements

Candidates should bring at least 15 years of total work experience, including 5 years in a relevant managerial role. Prior GCC experience is considered an advantage.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required, with an accounting or finance background preferred.
