Role Overview

Yuba City Unified School District is hiring for a Cook/Transport position in Yuba City, California. This is a full-time onsite role with a district benefit package included. The pay range is $20.59 to $25.02 per hour, with 5-step increments under contract terms. Candidates with experience may be placed as high as step 3.

Work Schedule

The assignment covers 5.5 hours each day, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., for 180 working days in the year.

Posting and Hiring Preference

Posting #2150. The first 3 days of the posting period are reserved for lateral transfers, from 7/6/2026 to 7/8/2026. Internal promotional or qualified applicants are reviewed next if no lateral interest is received, for 5 days from 7/6/2026 to 7/10/2026. External applicants are considered only after all qualified in-district applicants have been interviewed.

District/end-of-month paid employees, excluding timesheet and probationary staff, should apply during the first 5 days of the 10-day posting window. Probationary employees are reviewed along with external candidates.
