Role overview
This full-time Cook I position is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and sits within the Food and Beverage & Culinary function. It is a non-management role focused on preparing food to brand, safety, and presentation standards while supporting smooth kitchen operations.
What you will do
- Prepare specialty dishes and substitute menu items when needed.
- Control oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures to ensure food is cooked correctly.
- Move items from freezer storage to the refrigerator to thaw safely.
- Plate food with proper portions, arrangement, and garnish.
- Keep food production records and logs up to date.
- Track the quality and quantity of food being prepared.
- Let the team know when support is needed during busy service periods.
- Tell the Chef about surplus ingredients that can be used in daily specials.
- Update service staff on specials and any items that are unavailable.
- Check that all dishes meet quality standards before service.
- Cook and prepare items according to recipes, checklists, and presentation requirements.
- Prepare cold food items as required.

- Act as a positive example for other employees.
- Follow all company, safety, and security procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.

- Maintain a neat, professional uniform and personal appearance.

- Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and guests.
- Build effective working relationships and help the team achieve shared goals.
- Listen carefully and respond appropriately to employee concerns.

- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods.
- Perform reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and similar physical movements.
- Handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Carry out other duties reasonably assigned by supervisors.
Preferred qualification
Applicants should have a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience. No supervisory background is required, and no license or certification is specified.
