Role overview
Consolidated Contractors Company is hiring a Contract Administrator for its project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role centers on contract support, claims preparation, variation control, subcontract remeasurement, and close coordination with the project team to safeguard contractual compliance and the company’s commercial position.
Core duties
- Review tender files such as contract terms, technical requirements, and bill of quantities to understand obligations and provide contract and measurement support for a complete tender submission.
- Work with the materials engineer to secure quotations for project materials by assembling bid packs that include drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents to reflect the company’s requirements accurately.
- Measure quantities for contracted work using site measurements or drawings and contract rates, then use that information to build detailed payment claims and the final account.
- Draft thorough payment claims in line with contract terms and make sure every claim is backed by full supporting documentation.
- Track variation processes to ensure all changes are properly assessed, approved, processed, and supported by the required records.
- Stay in regular contact with the project team to keep information moving and identify any work that falls outside the original contract scope.
- Notify the client when changes are identified and negotiate their inclusion in the scope where needed to protect the company’s position.
- Guide project management on contract-related documentation requirements, including documents that must be created, filed, circulated, and maintained such as monthly payment certificates and variation orders.
- Manage remeasurement of subcontracted work, including agreement on variation orders and payment certificates, and validate claims before submission to the consultant.
- Give project management practical advice on contractual matters by reviewing correspondence and recommending the best course of action to protect the company’s interests and support contract profitability.
- Take part in dispute resolution and consult the Legal Department when needed to help protect the company’s position and reduce the risk of arbitration.
- Recommend and carry out training and development initiatives to address departmental needs and strengthen staff capabilities.
