Role overview
Join Vestas’ Northern and Central Europe onshore CPX PMO & Planning organization, where the Execution Portfolio Planning team works closely with project management, procurement, construction, and service teams to keep onshore wind projects planned and executed smoothly. Based in Husum and Stettin, the international team helps ensure delivery that is safe, efficient, and cost-conscious across the regional portfolio.
What this role does
As an Operational Crane Planner, you will take ownership of external crane planning and coordination before and during the execution phase of the NCE CPX onshore project portfolio. Your work will help make sure crane capacity is available where and when it is needed, while balancing cost, quality, safety, and flexibility across multiple projects.
Key duties
- Coordinate, assign, and plan crane resources across all onshore projects in the NCE region.
- Confirm that cranes are available on site according to project timelines and quality expectations.
- Prepare consolidated demand outlooks and coordinate them with crane suppliers and procurement.
- Work in close alignment with project management, procurement, construction, and service teams to support integrated planning.
- Improve resource allocation across projects with attention to cost, safety, quality, and operational flexibility.
- Follow project developments, identify planning risks, put mitigations in place, and share regular status updates on capacity and planning.
- Contribute to portfolio optimization and broader strategic planning decisions.
- Support supplier performance management and the crane sourcing approach.
What you bring
You should have a bachelor’s degree, vocational education or apprenticeship, or an equivalent background gained through experience in a technical or commercial area. Previous experience in site construction planning is preferred, especially in the wind industry or in other complex industrial or project-based environments.
Strong planning, reporting, and analysis skills are important, along with confidence using relevant software and IT systems. Familiarity with planning processes and resource coordination is needed, and advanced IT capability is expected, including MS Office and ERP systems; SAP and Primavera experience is especially beneficial.
You will need very strong English skills. German and/or Polish would be an advantage. A solid technical understanding of wind turbine generators is also required.
Competencies and working style
The ideal candidate is well organized, able to solve problems quickly, and comfortable working in complex project settings with several stakeholders at once. You should communicate clearly, collaborate well with colleagues at all levels, and build strong working relationships across the organization.
Benefits
- Structured onboarding and a permanent contract with long-term career prospects.
- Varied work in a future-oriented industry with opportunities to grow professionally.
- Flexible work-life balance support, including an overtime account, up to 8 home-office days per month, 30 vacation days, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve off, and the option of a sabbatical.
- Additional benefits such as a business bike, gym subsidy, company pension plan, and the Deutschlandticket.
- A Scandinavian-inspired environment with flat structures, an informal culture, and strong team spirit.
