About Affirm
Affirm is building a different kind of credit experience focused on clarity and fairness, allowing people to shop now and pay over time without hidden fees or compound interest.
About the People Team
The People team supports Affirmers in building a strong, inclusive, high-performing organization. Its work centers on three priorities: bringing in mission-aligned talent, supporting development for individuals and teams, and keeping employees engaged through thoughtful experiences and rewards. The team designs people programs and systems that help every employee contribute and grow, creating a lasting advantage for the company.
About the Role
Affirm is looking for a highly detail-focused and data-savvy Compensation Lead to manage compensation systems from start to finish. This person will ensure tools such as Radford for survey reporting and Pave for cycle management are configured to support Affirm’s policies, processes, and employee needs. The role sits at the center of day-to-day compensation operations and helps keep programs effective and market-competitive.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full administration of the company’s twice-yearly compensation cycles.
- Help lead every part of the annual compensation studies used to assess market competitiveness, including reviewing roles, duties, activities, and requirements; managing benchmarking survey submissions and reviews; and suggesting updates to cash and equity pay structures and ranges.
- Handle special compensation analysis projects as needed, including incentive pay, equity programs, and pay equity reviews.
- Own reporting related to pay across the different regions in which Affirm operates.
- Support compensation-related training and internal communications.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in compensation or people analytics.
- Hands-on experience with compensation management platforms, with a strong preference for Pave.
- Comfort working with data and turning it into practical insights using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Sigma Computing, and Claude Code.
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work both independently and with others.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach and the ability to communicate clearly across functions to meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment, integrity, and the maturity to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to solve issues with varied complexity by evaluating relevant data and factors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas in a simple way for employees and senior leaders.
- Strong organization and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Solid customer service experience.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to ensure plans and programs remain compliant.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay band for this role is Grade K, with Equity Grade 4. New hires typically start near the lower end of the range. Affirms pay approach is designed to be straightforward and transparent, and compensation is determined based on factors such as location, experience, and relevant skills.
The role includes base pay as part of a broader compensation package that may also feature equity, monthly allowances for health, wellness, and technology expenses, and benefits such as fully subsidized medical coverage plus dental and vision coverage for the employee and dependents.
The annual base salary range in Canada is $112,000 to $172,000.
