Role responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy setting that supports the care, protection, and wellbeing of children.
  • Support the full range of children’s developmental, emotional, and daily care needs.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate learning experiences that encourage each child’s growth and potential.
  • Help keep the learning environment organised, clean, safe, well resourced, and respectful of different cultures.
  • Monitor children’s development and keep accurate observations and records.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Follow centre policies and procedures and contribute to a high standard of best practice.

Required qualifications and experience

  • A genuine affection for working with children.
  • Minimum FETAC/QQI Level 5 in Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a childcare environment.
  • First Aid, Manual Handling, and Food Safety training would be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development throughout your career.

Additional requirements

Applicants must be prepared to provide written references and undergo Garda Vetting through the company. If an applicant has lived outside Ireland for more than 6 consecutive months since the age of 18, police clearance will also be required. Proof of eligibility to work in the EU must be submitted.
