About the role
Okta is looking for a high-impact CEO Communications Manager to strengthen the executive voice of its CEO and improve how communications are planned, produced, and optimized with AI. The position reports to the Head of CEO Communications and works closely with the Office of the CEO, Corporate Communications, executive leaders, and outside agencies.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, content creation, operations, and execution. It supports a wide range of CEO-facing communication work, including internal and external speaking opportunities, media and influencer interactions, social content, bylined articles, blog posts, keynotes, and thought leadership materials. The ideal candidate brings strong curiosity, ownership, discretion, and the ability to understand both business strategy and the technology landscape, especially identity security, AI, and enterprise software.
Key responsibilities
- Create and polish bylines, scripts, talking points, social copy, and briefing documents for audiences such as employees, customers, media, and board members.
- Build feedback systems that use engagement, sentiment, and reach insights to improve CEO communications over time.
- Explore secure ways to use AI and agents to streamline workflows and accelerate content development across the CEO communications function.
- Support event production by coordinating logistics such as run-throughs, audio-visual setup, studio operations, and live event needs.
- Own organized, scalable processes for the full content workflow, from ideation and drafting through legal, PR, and cross-functional review to final distribution.
- Coordinate deliverables, inputs, and timelines across executives, production teams, design partners, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain very high quality standards, respond quickly in demanding situations, and act as a proactive thought partner in fast-moving, high-stakes environments.
Requirements
- 5 to 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, with direct exposure to executive or CEO communications, preferably in a fast-growing tech or SaaS company.
- Proven ability to write for CEOs, founders, and other senior leaders while preserving a distinct executive voice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Comfort using AI to improve communication workflows, content quality, and speed.
- Strong sense of ownership, discretion, and professionalism in a high-performance setting.
- Solid project management ability with experience handling changing priorities, multiple stakeholders, and tight deadlines.
- Interest in mission-driven work and a team culture grounded in trust, humility, rigor, and creativity.
- Understanding of Okta’s business and prior experience working with cloud companies.
- Experience with social media and an analytical mindset for spotting trends and forming a point of view.
- BS/BA degree.
Compensation and benefits
The annual base salary for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area is $139,000 to $191,000. Actual pay will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. Where applicable, the role may also include equity and bonus eligibility.
Additional benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, flexible spending account, and paid leave such as PTO and parental leave, based on the applicable plan and policy.
