About the role
Mace is looking for a seasoned Associate Director in Landscape Design to steer large, complex projects from early strategy through to final delivery. The role sits within a high-performing, collaborative team working on a major entertainment and luxury hospitality development with leading architects and international consultants. The programme features significant infrastructure and built assets and is delivered quickly through a practical construction management model, making this position well suited to someone who has experience managing both main and subcontract packages.
The organisation combines construction capability with consultancy expertise to help people, teams, and projects reach their full potential. Its values shape how it works and the kind of professionals it seeks to bring on board.
What you'll do
- Shape and deliver the landscape design strategy so it supports programme targets, timelines, and financial constraints.
- Own the end-to-end design management process, including planning, workflow coordination, and production of deliverables.
- Handle consultant appointments and approvals across all relevant workstreams.
- Set up, guide, and coordinate internal and external multidisciplinary design teams.
- Serve as the main point of contact for design matters, helping resolve issues and maintain strong client partnerships.
- Lead engagement with senior stakeholders and use influence to support project decisions and outcomes.
- Track performance indicators and present progress data to senior leaders.
- Work in line with the organisation’s net zero carbon goals by helping identify, manage, and reduce carbon impacts throughout delivery.
What you need
- A bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 15 years of experience managing landscape architecture design on large, complex, or mixed-use developments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage design risks, reduce exposure, and plan delivery effectively.
- Commercial understanding with hands-on experience handling budgets, fees, and schedules.
- Strong grasp of design processes, coordination workflows, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Working knowledge of BIM and related digital tools such as BIM 360, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Synchro, and P6.
- Eligibility to meet visa requirements for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with relevant experience on high-value projects for a project management consultancy, as needed for immigration and client approval.
Working style and values
Mace places a strong emphasis on safety, inclusion, client commitment, integrity, and continuous improvement. The company promotes a working environment where people can stay safe and well, deliver quality outcomes, act ethically, and keep developing their capabilities.
Additional information
The employer is open to considering part-time, flexible, and hybrid arrangements where the role allows. Candidates from a wide range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply, and applicants who do not meet every requirement may still be considered for this or another suitable position within the organisation.
