About the role
The Government Finance Profession team in the Government Finance Division is looking for an Assistant Systems Accountant to join a capable and collaborative group. You will support two important Treasury platforms: CFISnet, the Crown’s Financial Information System, and TADAA, Treasury Data and Analytics. The role includes handling helpdesk queries, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with system enhancements that contribute to accurate and high-quality reporting.
Key duties

- Support fixes, updates, and continuous improvements to Treasury systems.
- Contribute to the delivery of reliable outputs for Government financial documents.
- Develop technical capability and interpersonal skills while working in a team-oriented setting.
About you
We are seeking someone who enjoys problem-solving, helping others, and contributing to a collaborative team. The role suits a person who can work across finance and IT environments, remain calm under pressure, and communicate clearly with a strong customer service mindset.
What you will bring
- A relevant qualification in information technology, or hands-on experience supporting software, hardware, or network problems.
- Strong analytical ability and a practical approach to troubleshooting.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A reliable, positive, and cooperative attitude.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to stay composed in busy situations.
- Genuine interest in supporting people and working across finance and technology functions.
- Basic SQL knowledge and public sector experience are helpful but not required.
Benefits and development
The role comes with flexible working arrangements and five weeks of annual leave, along with health and wellbeing initiatives that support work-life balance. You can also expect social events, sports teams, and employee networks that help build connection and community. The Treasury also places a strong focus on learning and career growth, offering opportunities to train and progress.
