About the Role

This position is for a Student Management Aide who will help maintain student conduct, support developmental guidance, oversee detention and suspension processes, monitor student behaviour, and handle the related records in a structured school setting.

The role works alongside the Student Management Team, teachers, Year Heads, Heads of Department, and school leadership to provide steady follow-up, reinforce accountability, and support disciplined, growth-oriented student management.

Key Responsibilities

Developmental Discipline Coordination

  • Oversee and guide students assigned to detention or suspension from Monday to Friday, including after-school sessions.
  • Administer detention and suspension routines, check compliance, and ensure procedures are carried out consistently.
  • Track students who have breached rules, support accountability measures, and help them return smoothly to normal school routines.
  • Keep accurate logs of detention cases, attendance, and discipline-related documentation.
  • Work with Form Teachers to confirm detention and suspension attendance outcomes.

Discipline Room Operations

  • Help manage students who arrive late during morning reporting time.
  • Update Discipline Room records, including handphone confiscation lists, late-arrival logs, and attendance information in the school’s data system.
  • Attend to students who come to the Discipline Room for support or follow-up.
  • Coordinate with teachers, Year Heads, Heads of Department, and school management when needed.

Case Management and Follow-Up

  • Partner with the Student Management Team to observe student progress after disciplinary action.
  • Escalate and update relevant discipline staff if observations or reports suggest further concerns.
  • Carry out follow-up with students after investigations, including monitoring during in-house suspension, after-school detention, and assignment completion.
  • Maintain daily movement records for students who must sign in and sign out.

Developmental Discipline Practices

  • Support the Head of Department for Student Management in creating structured learning activities and behaviour-based interventions.
  • Assist teachers in guiding students who need extra behavioural support through restorative and relationship-centred approaches.
  • Monitor less structured parts of the school day, such as recess and after school, to reduce disruptive behaviour.
  • Use discipline and late-coming data with the Student Management Team to shape preventive and proactive interventions.

Examinations and Term Break Support

  • Assist during school and national examinations by monitoring school tone, escorting students, and managing waiting areas for oral exams.
  • Help supervise students under extended self-study or suspension arrangements during term breaks.
  • Record and maintain routine non-compliance matters such as attire, grooming, lateness, and misuse of handphones.
  • File and safeguard student profiling records according to school procedures.

Requirements

The school is looking for someone with at least a GCE O-Level qualification, along with experience supporting youths in a school, community, or social service environment. The person should be accurate with documentation, comfortable using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, and able to communicate professionally with teachers, parents, and school leaders. Applicants must also have valid work authorisation in Singapore at the time of application.

Preferred Competencies

Previous experience in teaching or a school environment is an advantage. Background in coaching, mentoring, or supervising youths who need behavioural support will be helpful, as will experience with disciplinary investigations and report preparation. Familiarity with school management platforms and student databases is also valued. Candidates with experience in uniformed services, student welfare, youth supervision, or similar work are welcome.

Work Arrangements

The role follows these hours: Monday to Thursday from 7.30am to 4.30pm, and Friday from 7.30am to 4.00pm. Lunch break is 30 minutes and included within working hours. Non-working days are Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays. The job is based on-site at a school in Tampines.
