Role overview

SRG Global Mining Services is seeking experienced Shotfirer team members for a long-term mining project in Queensland. The work follows a DIDO 7:7 roster and is based at Bogie in the Whitsunday region, so the opportunity is best suited to candidates who live locally in the area.

What you'll do

• Plan and prepare blast designs.
• Manage explosives safely and in line with site procedures.
• Clear blast zones and make them secure before firing.
• Record incidents and complete all required paperwork.
• Take responsibility for magazine keeping, including stock checks and inspections.
• Work with Nonel accessories.
• Use 1-inch hose systems to load emulsion product into 102 mm to 140 mm blast holes.
• Train and supervise the blast crew to help meet safety and production goals.

What the employer is looking for

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a hard rock shotfirer position and hold the required Queensland licences and clearances. You should also be ready to complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.

• Shotfirer licence for Queensland.
• Dangerous Goods Security Card for Queensland.
• Valid manual driver’s licence.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol assessment.
