Risk Manager/ Specialist

Role overview

This is a full-time, onsite opportunity in Qatar with a consulting firm that supports a financial institution client. The assignment focuses on enhancing the organisation’s enterprise risk framework, working with internal stakeholders to improve risk practices, governance routines, and compliance with regulatory expectations.

What you will do

• Help put enterprise risk and operational risk frameworks into practice.
• Run and support Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs).
• Track operational risk incidents and keep risk logs up to date.
• Draft risk-related updates and reports for senior leadership and governance forums.
• Support business continuity planning and wider resilience efforts.
• Keep an eye on regulatory obligations and suggest process enhancements.
• Review and update policies, procedures, and control-related documentation.
• Partner with business teams to identify, assess, and reduce operational risk exposure.
• Encourage and reinforce a strong risk-aware culture across the business.

Experience and skills needed

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a closely related field.
• At least five years of hands-on experience in operational risk or enterprise risk.
• Proven exposure to governance, internal controls, and risk reporting.
• Practical understanding of RCSA methodology.
• Strong analytical thinking and clear communication skills.
• Experience in banking or financial services is an added advantage.
