Role Overview
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi is seeking a Paralegal to support its legal function with research, drafting, contract tracking, compliance coordination, case administration, and day-to-day legal operations. The role requires strong documentation discipline, attention to detail, confidentiality, and comfort working with digital tools and AI-enabled workflows.
Legal Research and Document Support
- Carry out research on laws, rules, judicial decisions, and related legal authorities.
- Turn research findings into concise, well-organized briefs for legal counsel.
- Prepare, revise, and format legal paperwork, including contracts, memoranda, correspondence, and related records.
- Support the preparation of agreements, NDAs, MoUs, and similar legal documents.
- Review documents carefully to improve accuracy, readability, and compliance with legal standards.
Contract and Compliance Administration
- Oversee and update the legal team’s contract repository and tracking systems.
- Check that contracts follow internal rules, governance requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Assist with compliance reviews, audits, and policy amendments.
- Track legal and regulatory developments that may affect the organization and escalate relevant updates.
- Help ensure legal processes align with corporate governance and risk controls.
Litigation and Case Assistance
- Support litigation work by organizing files, monitoring deadlines, and coordinating with outside counsel.
- Draft case summaries, progress updates, and internal supporting documents.
- Assist the legal team with disputes, claims, and investigations.
Administrative and Coordination Duties
- Keep both digital and physical legal files orderly, indexed, and version-controlled.
- Archive matters, requests, attachments, and correspondence in a structured way.
- Liaise with internal teams for document collection, approvals, and follow-up actions.
- Prepare presentations, reports, dashboards, and training content.
- Arrange meetings, record minutes, track actions, and follow through on pending items.
- Prioritize workloads and service requests while meeting legal unit deadlines.
- Maintain high standards of record-keeping, accuracy, and administrative quality.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Technology and Digital Tools
- Use legal management platforms, document systems, and contract lifecycle management tools.
- Maintain accurate records in SharePoint, OneDrive, and similar enterprise systems.
- Work with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, for drafting, tracking, and collaboration.
- Apply advanced Excel techniques for tracking, reporting, and basic data analysis.
- Manage version control, audit trails, and access permissions for documents.
- Support paperless workflows and the move toward more automated legal operations.
- Resolve minor system issues and coordinate with IT support when needed.
AI and Innovation
- Use AI-based tools to improve legal research, drafting, and contract review efficiency.
- Apply AI solutions to summarize legal content, identify key clauses, and flag potential risks.
- Help automate repetitive legal and administrative tasks through digital workflows.
- Support the rollout and upkeep of AI-enabled legal and knowledge management solutions.
- Use AI tools responsibly and in line with organizational and legal requirements.
- Stay informed about new developments in legal technology, AI, and digital transformation.
- Contribute ideas for process improvement, automation, and innovation.
