Role Overview

This is a practical, detail-focused position responsible for keeping the hotel looking polished and well cared for. The successful candidate will handle painting and decorating work across the property and help maintain a high standard of presentation for guests and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Your work will support the overall upkeep and appearance of the hotel, with duties that include decorating a range of internal spaces and ensuring jobs are completed to a professional finish.

• Complete painting and decorating tasks in guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back-of-house areas to a consistently high standard.
• Select and apply suitable techniques and materials for different surfaces and finishes to achieve a professional result.
• Prepare surfaces thoroughly, including filling cracks and holes, and safeguard furniture and flooring while work is underway.
• Spot signs of wear, damage, or other maintenance concerns and report issues when they need further attention.
• Work alongside the Maintenance team to finish tasks efficiently while keeping disruption to guests and staff to a minimum.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and leave the work area clean and organised.
• Take responsibility for delivering a finished result that reflects the quality standards of the hotel.

What You’ll Need

The ideal applicant will bring hands-on experience, strong workmanship, and a proactive attitude toward supporting the wider maintenance operation.

• Demonstrable experience in painting and decorating, preferably in a hotel or other commercial setting.
• A strong eye for detail and pride in producing excellent quality work.
• Sound knowledge of surface preparation, finishing methods, and the safe handling of tools and materials.
• Confidence working independently, managing time effectively, and setting task priorities.
• Willingness to step in on other maintenance tasks when required and adapt to changing needs.
• Good teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to take initiative.
• Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
