MES Support Developer (Python / Flask / JavaScript)

Role overview

Al Fanar Auto Spare Parts Trading is seeking a MES Support Developer to keep a custom Manufacturing Execution System running smoothly in a live production setting. The role focuses on day-to-day support, targeted enhancements, and quick troubleshooting to minimise disruption on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the current MES application maintained and operational.
• Introduce or adjust workstations, machines, and production process flows as needed.
• Diagnose and resolve backend problems in a Python Flask application.
• Update workstation behavior and dashboard logic written in JavaScript.
• Revise HTML forms, interface screens, and input validation rules.
• Work with JSON-based configuration files that control system behavior.
• Investigate issues related to barcode printing and workstation network/connectivity.
• Support Windows-based deployment tasks, shared directory setup, and printer configuration.
• Respond quickly to production floor system incidents and close them efficiently.

Required skills and technical knowledge

• Hands-on Python development experience.
• Practical familiarity with the Flask framework.
• Strong command of plain JavaScript.
• Solid working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Experience handling JSON configuration files.
• Basic exposure to SQLite or other SQL databases.
• Comfort working in a Windows environment and troubleshooting related issues.
• Ability to understand, update, and extend an existing codebase.

Additional information

This position supports a production environment, so the ability to debug issues quickly and make reliable changes to an existing MES platform is important. The role involves both application support and incremental development work.
