Role Summary

The Lead Janitor supports custodial operations by handling administrative work, training team members, and overseeing training activities. The role also serves as a subject-matter resource on cleaning techniques, cleaning chemicals, commercial cleaning equipment, and workplace sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and practical training on customer service, safety, compliance, and company procedures.
• Provide one-on-one coaching whenever needed.
• Teach proper use of janitorial equipment, personal protective equipment, and chemical handling and safety practices.
• Prepare copies of training materials, update them when required, and complete assigned administrative work.
• Observe new hires during orientation and review trainee records to confirm compliance and successful onboarding.
• Recommend disciplinary action to the training coordinator when warranted.
• Carry out monthly safety reviews and other inspections to help maintain compliance with OSHA, risk management standards, and all relevant company, federal, state, and local requirements.
• Perform building walkthroughs and inspections as needed.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.

Experience Requirement

A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
