Lead Infra Operations

Role Overview

Bharti Airtel is looking for a Lead Infra Operations professional to manage infrastructure uptime, strengthen operational reliability, and drive process improvements for network sites in Gurugram.

Key Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure availability and work toward consistently high uptime across sites.
• Cut down service-affecting and non-service-affecting incidents while supporting a 99.999% uptime target.
• Oversee preventive maintenance activities, including OEM and in-house PM, battery discharge checks, LA, SPD, DR testing, and related predictive maintenance plans.
• Work on alarm integration through Netcool, coordinate testing with NOC, and support new product development and digitization initiatives.
• Review end-to-end processes to simplify operations and improve sustainability.
• Lead climate-proofing and risk-mitigation actions, including SOPs, work permits, check sheets, MOPs, BAISP amendments, SOD approvals, and white paper updates.
• Handle basement lifting and other site climate-proofing measures.
• Track audit gaps, perform equipment audits, and manage blueprint-based gap analysis and closure.
• Cover operational audits for PAC, FSS, DG controller, earthing, HT breakers, LA, UPS, SMPS, PLC, and DG alternator systems.
• Manage surprise audits, physical audits, and safety learning actions through to closure.
• Implement blueprint controls and maintain site hygiene, SPOF reduction, and future readiness plans.
• Monitor and remove single points of failure, and maintain separation of power and fiber cables where required.
• Improve infra uptime at site level, especially for MPLS and regional networks.
• Reduce incident volumes and strengthen risk analysis and SPOF removal efforts.
• Ensure 100% execution of scheduled PM for MPLS, core, and regional/MPLS infrastructure.
• Control site Opex through DG and EB consumption tracking, with attention to PUE/CPH against regional averages.
• Keep asset validation, AMC renewals, and validity tracking at 100%.
• Ensure site lease renewals are completed before expiry.
• Maintain statutory compliance, including waste lube oil disposal and replacement of fire and safety equipment.
• Drive proactive hygiene actions through virtual and physical site visits, close all snag points, and remove scrap material from sites.
• Monitor infra utilization and support timely upgrades based on internal customer requirements.
• Replace end-of-life infrastructure equipment after performance testing in line with the infra white paper.
• Maintain 100% redundancy for critical MPLS sites.
• Support productivity initiatives such as climate-proofing, solar and open access implementation, rack and power de-averaging, site validation, audit closure, and alarm extension/testing as per site-type guidelines.

Requirements

• Any graduate can apply.
• Strong understanding of telecom infrastructure operations and site-level maintenance.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
• Ability to manage audits, compliance actions, and closure tracking.
• Knowledge of power, earthing, UPS, DG, SMPS, MPLS, and related infrastructure systems.
• Comfort with alarm monitoring, NOC coordination, and operational reporting.
• Capability to drive process improvement, risk reduction, and site hygiene standards.

This role includes responsibilities related to Opex control, Capex awareness, statutory compliance, ESG-related waste disposal, site lease renewals, and implementation of climate-resilient site practices.
