First Officer

Role overview

This role is for an aviation professional joining a major airline as a First Officer. The position offers the opportunity to operate modern, fuel-efficient aircraft and develop through a demanding training programme aligned with high flying standards.

Eligibility and licence requirements

• Applicants must hold an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), a Commercial Pilot Licence with Multi-Engine Aircraft Instrument Rating (CPL/MEIR) and frozen ATPL, or a Multi Pilot Licence (MPL).
• Licences must be recognised by CAAS or able to be validated by CAAS. Foreign licence holders may check whether they meet the eligibility criteria through the relevant validation document.
• A Class 1 Medical certificate is required, and it must be recognised by CAAS or eligible for CAAS validation.
• Applicants should have ICAO English Level 5 or higher.
• A Certificate of Test for Multi-Engine Instrument Rating is required.

Flight experience

Candidates are expected to have at least 1,500 total multi-crew flying hours on jet aircraft with a maximum take-off weight above 20 tonnes. Those with more than 700 hours but fewer than 1,500 hours on such aircraft may still be considered on merit and, if selected, may undergo a longer training programme.

What the role offers

Selected candidates will join the airline’s pilot workforce and may be assigned to the B747, B777, or B787 fleet. Prior flying experience may also be taken into account for command upgrade opportunities.

Training and bond
