About the role

This position sits within Core, the team responsible for the technical backbone of Google’s leading products and for improving how Google operates at scale. The broader mission behind this work is to strengthen Google’s performance, user experience, risk posture, and adoption of generative AI through engineering and process change. Within that effort, the AI Transformation Finance team supports leaders across Alphabet, including Core, by improving spend governance and identifying efficiency gains from AI transformation initiatives.

As a Financial Analyst on this team, you will be responsible for building clear financial visibility across major cross-functional programs. The role calls for someone who can turn complex, fragmented inputs into structured analysis, business insight, and leadership-ready recommendations. You will act as a key partner to decision-makers by organizing financial information, shaping the storyline behind the numbers, and helping ensure initiatives stay aligned with strategic goals.

Minimum qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline, or comparable hands-on experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in FP&A, consulting, or a similar function, unless you hold an advanced degree.
  • Hands-on experience running complete FP&A cycles, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling in a multinational environment.
  • Working knowledge of programming, such as SQL.

Preferred qualifications

  • Background in managing prioritization, designing and executing projects, and working effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proven success operating in a complex global organization, with the ability to plan and manage work at both strategic and operational levels while staying highly organized, detail-oriented, and strategically focused.
  • Strong analytical judgment and a track record of using data to inform decisions, along with experience presenting recommendations to executive audiences and influencing them.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to organize, synthesize, and present research-backed content clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, combining conceptual thinking and practical execution, especially when dealing with ambiguous situations and organizational complexity.

Compensation and benefits

The role is compensated based on factors such as role-specific skills, relevant experience, and education or training. In the US, the base salary range is $116,000 to $167,000 annually, with a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.

Google also offers benefits for eligible employees.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of consolidating and reporting financial results, producing concise, accurate, and action-oriented summaries that support leadership decisions.
  • Review and interpret business cases, providing forward-looking analysis to project leads and helping leaders stay informed about program progress.
  • Create and maintain a single reliable source for financial information by bringing together data from multiple inputs and workstreams.
  • Coordinate across teams to collect and combine program updates, supporting accountability and consistency in stakeholder reporting.
  • Prepare stakeholder-facing materials such as presentations and summary documents that communicate project status and financial performance clearly.

Equal opportunity

The employer maintains an inclusive hiring policy and considers applicants without regard to race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, veteran status, or criminal history, where permitted by law. Accommodation support is available for candidates with disabilities or special needs.
