Role overview
The Finance Assistant Manager will work alongside the Finance Manager to handle a broad range of finance activities. The role calls for solid knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, local laws, and taxation, together with the ability to guide the business on finance matters.
Key duties
This position involves checking financial records, reviewing reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy of key accounts such as the general ledger and creditor balances. The role also includes offering finance input and recommendations across different teams and representing the finance function in meetings.
Technical skills
- Strong command of accounting and account reconciliation processes
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Working knowledge of SAP FI, including GL, AR, and AP modules
- Comfortable using Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
Experience and education
The preferred background is 2 to 3 years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to debtors, creditors, and the general ledger. Prior audit exposure across different industries is also valued. A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is preferred, though there is some flexibility.
