About the Role
This part-time, on-site engineering internship in San Francisco is focused on building real software that reaches actual users. You’ll work with a team developing AI-native products and get hands-on exposure to how a strong engineering organization ships and iterates on product.
What You’ll Do
- Create production-grade software that customers interact with directly.
- Collaborate with engineers working on AI-native products.
- Help develop backend services, APIs, product functionality, and internal tools.
- Take part in technical design conversations and code review sessions.
- Learn practical workflows used by high-performing engineering teams.
- Drive projects from the initial concept through deployment.
What We’re Looking For
Experience and proof of work matter more here than a polished résumé. The team wants to see what you have actually built.
Applicants should be ready to share a GitHub profile, side projects, weekend builds, or anything you have created and debugged through repeated failures. Curiosity, initiative, and a genuine desire to understand how things work are highly valued.
Traits That Fit Well Here
- You like building things for enjoyment.
- You ask thoughtful, useful questions.
- You enjoy tackling problems without straightforward answers.
- You prefer fast-moving environments.
- You are comfortable saying when you do not know something.
- You focus on learning rather than appearing impressive.
Bonus Experience
- Background in Python or contemporary backend engineering.
- Exposure to AI or LLM-related work.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- Participation in hackathons.
- Research-based project experience.
- Startup experience.
Before You Apply
Instead of spending a long time refining your résumé, share something you have built. A short, concrete example of your work will make a stronger impression.
