Role overview
University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) combines high standards of clinical practice with exceptional patient care. Due to growing demand across urgent and emergency services, the trust is looking to broaden its Emergency Practitioner team in the Urgent Treatment Centre.
Applications are invited from Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, and Advanced Clinical Practitioners who want to work alongside the clinical team in this busy setting.
About the service
The Urgent Care Centre is co-located with the Emergency Department and offers emergency nursing and medical support around the clock, every day of the year. The department manages patients with life-threatening, urgent, and emergency presentations, as well as illnesses and injuries across all age groups.
Last year, the Emergency Department cared for 161,000 patients, making it one of the busiest emergency departments in London. More than 85,000 of those patients were seen in the Urgent Treatment Centre.
Key purpose of the role
In this post, you will work independently as an autonomous clinician, delivering safe, timely, evidence-based, and patient-focused care. The role involves using advanced diagnostic and clinical judgement to assess, treat, and manage a wide variety of patients with acute, undifferentiated, and undiagnosed conditions and injuries.
Working pattern
The post requires day and night shifts, along with pro rata weekend and bank holiday cover.
Important notes
Applicants should review the job description and person specification for full qualification requirements. The trust has also noted that the vacancy may close earlier than the published closing date if there is high interest.
