About the company
We are partnering with a rapidly expanding Data & AI consultancy in Ireland that has earned a place in the Deloitte Fast 50 Top 15 for two years in a row. The business is also a Snowflake Elite Partner and has been recognised as the winner of Snowflake’s UKI Services Accelerator Partner of the Year award.
Its teams deliver data, analytics, and AI engagements across a wide range of sectors. In contrast to larger consulting organisations, this role offers exposure to varied projects rather than being assigned to a single client for long periods, giving you the chance to work with modern technologies on challenging problems.
Role overview
As a Data Engineer, you will own the design and delivery of ETL solutions for client projects. The position sits at the point where business needs and technical implementation meet, requiring close collaboration with stakeholders while you build scalable data platforms using current cloud and data tools. There is also scope to contribute to solutions that incorporate AI capabilities.
What you'll do
- Develop the structure and design for ETL flows and data warehouse environments.
- Build data solutions using Snowflake, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric.
- Create efficient SQL and Python logic for transforming data.
- Engage with clients to clarify requirements and translate them into working solutions.
- Use established data warehousing practices, including dimensional modelling, data quality, and metadata management.
- Keep up to date with new developments, including AI and large language models.
- Guide and support junior colleagues and contribute to technical problem-solving discussions.
- Take responsibility for parts of client projects from initial design through to deployment.
Requirements
- Between 2 and 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics, or a closely related role.
- Practical experience with at least one of the following: Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong command of SQL, including the ability to write complex queries confidently.
- Good working knowledge of Python for automation and data transformation.
- Previous hands-on ETL development experience in a live production environment.
- Understanding of data warehousing principles such as dimensional modelling, OLAP, and star schema design.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Consulting experience from a Big 4 firm, mid-sized consultancy, or technology consultancy is advantageous.
- Experience delivering projects in a client-facing setting is a plus.
- Exposure to data quality, metadata management, or data governance would be beneficial.
- Experience with AI/ML concepts or collaboration with data scientists is an added advantage.
- A curious, commercially minded approach with a focus on business outcomes.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with clients.
- A collaborative, practical mindset and the ability to make sensible decisions.
- Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work onsite in Dublin for 3 days per week.
Why join
- Opportunity to work across a wide mix of clients and projects, keeping the work varied and engaging.
- Join one of Ireland’s fastest-growing data consultancies.
- Access to modern, leading-edge technology through the company’s Snowflake partnership.
- Flat organisational structure with a strong collaborative consulting culture.
- Clear scope for career growth within an ambitious business.
- Exposure to AI, data innovation, and emerging technologies.
- Experience working across multiple industries and business areas.
