Role overview

This position focuses on accurate edging and mounting of prescription lenses into customer frames. The role also includes thorough inspection of finished spectacles to make sure every pair meets quality expectations before it is delivered.

Edging and mounting duties

• Take lenses out of the lens envelope and inspect their condition before starting work.
• Use a lensometer to verify lens power, then mark the optical centre and axis according to the order requirements.
• Run the tracer machine to capture the shape and size of the spectacle frame or lens.
• Operate the edging machine to cut lenses to the required shape and mount them carefully into the customer’s frame.
• Use drilling and grooving equipment to support Rimlon and rimless frame specifications.
• Carry out retouching or chamfering by machine or by hand when needed, such as for oversized lenses or transfer frames.
• Inspect each completed job carefully to confirm it matches company standards before dispatch.

General duties

• Clean and store machines and accessories properly after use.
• Carry out machine maintenance and calibration on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and tidy edging room.

Qualifications and experience

Secondary school education is required. A minimum of 1 year of proven experience in edging and mounting, or in a related role, is expected. Prior optical experience will be considered an advantage.

• Work schedule: 5.5 days per week.
• Monday to Friday: 8.00am to 5.00pm.
• Saturday: 8.30am to 1.00pm.

This role is based in Singapore and is a full-time on-site position.
