Role overview
In this position, you will help the organisation make better decisions by turning complex information into practical insights. You will work with colleagues in Retail, Merchandising, Finance and IT to build reporting and analysis tools that support day-to-day operations and strategic planning. A major part of the role involves helping move reporting from SSRS to Power BI while improving the quality, usability and consistency of business data.
Key responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders across the business to clarify reporting needs and create data-led solutions.
- Create, update and support interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI.
- Assist with the transition from SSRS-based reporting to Power BI, maintaining accuracy and consistency of outputs.
- Examine large datasets to uncover patterns, opportunities and actionable insights.
- Build and maintain data models, reporting logic and BI solutions using SQL and Power BI.
- Promote strong data governance and data quality while improving reporting workflows and tools.
- Help business users understand and confidently use data and reporting outputs.
Candidate profile
You should bring at least 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics or a similar analytical role. Practical expertise in Power BI, SQL and data modelling is essential, along with experience translating stakeholder needs into reporting solutions. Familiarity with ETL/ELT workflows and reporting best practices will be valuable. Exposure to SSRS, Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS or Azure-based technologies is considered an advantage. You should be highly analytical, a strong problem solver and able to communicate clearly with people at different levels of the organisation. A degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related field is required.
