Role overview
Nua Healthcare Services is among Ireland’s major care providers, delivering residential support, supported living, day services, and community outreach for children and adults with a variety of complex support needs. The organisation is looking for caring, driven, and committed Assistant Support Workers to join the team in Portnahully, County Kilkenny.
This position focuses on person-centred support that helps individuals build confidence, increase independence, and live purposeful lives in their communities. The role also includes working alongside colleagues to maintain high standards of care and professional practice.
Compensation
Frontline salary: €30,000 to €35,000 per year.
Key purpose of the role
As an Assistant Support Worker, you will support people who use the service in their daily lives and contribute to their wellbeing, development, and independence. The company will provide training and ongoing development to help you build your skills and grow in the role.
Daily duties
- Help individuals organise and manage everyday routines and activities.
- Support participation in local community life and social engagement.
- Assist with learning, skill-building, and progress toward personal goals.
- Encourage independent living skills such as meal preparation, housework, laundry, attending appointments, and maintaining family and social relationships.
- Follow company policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and relevant codes of practice to the extent reasonably possible.
- Work flexible shifts within a 24-hour, 7-day service to meet service needs.
Other duties may be assigned where appropriate to the position.
