Supplier Quality Engineer

Role Overview

This opportunity is for a Supplier Quality Engineer role with a US-based product company in Gurgaon. The position is based in Phase-1 of IT/ITES SEZ, International Techpark (ITPG), Gurgaon.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with internal teams to resolve supplier quality problems, including containment measures and corrective actions.
• Serve as the main contact for internal and external stakeholders on supplier-related compliance matters.
• Support both internal and external audit activities when required and help ensure GMP and regulatory compliance for medical devices, including FDA, IMB and notified body expectations.
• Handle supplier quality assurance activities and maintain the integrity of supplier data in line with documented processes.
• Own the tracking and reporting of supplier-related quality concerns and ensure timely communication to relevant stakeholders.
• Keep clear communication paths with strategic sourcing teams and define accountability by commodity and supplier.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to investigate and address material quality issues.
• Maintain the Approved Supplier List in coordination with merger and acquisition, global sourcing, regulatory, supplier control and audit functions.
• Drive ongoing supplier quality improvement initiatives.
• Take part in supplier change review activities with stakeholders and support the evaluation of proposed supplier changes.
• Contribute to the planning, execution and closure of supplier audits.
• Participate in supplier performance reviews as needed.
• Support cross-functional projects at local and global levels.
• Work with supplier quality management and strategic sourcing teams on quality agreements and supplier approvals.

Candidate Profile

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Quality, or a related field is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in quality management systems, supplier audits, agreements, or similar work is expected.
• At least 2 years of experience in supply management, sourcing, or a related function is also needed.
• Working knowledge of ISO 13485 is important for this role.
• Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary for dealing with suppliers, peers, team leads and senior leadership.
• The ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments and levels, both internally and externally, is essential.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and cost-reduction methods will be useful.
• Familiarity with supplier metrics, measurement approaches and supporting systems is required.
• Comfort with tools such as TrackWise, Excel and SharePoint is expected, and basic exposure to project management tools is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking is needed.
