Site Engineer

Role Overview

A respected construction business in Galway city centre is hiring a Site Engineer to support the delivery of innovative, sustainable building projects. The role focuses on managing on-site activities so that work is completed on schedule, stays within budget, and meets high-quality standards. You will coordinate closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to help keep the project running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to the Site Manager, Project Manager, and Contracts Manager and complete assigned duties in line with agreed requirements.
• Make sure all site works are executed according to the project specification, or to another acceptable standard where no specification exists or where instructed by senior management.
• Carry out accurate setting-out for the site and structures so the programme is maintained without delays.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy across all parts of the project.
• Check that all work completed on site meets the required quality standard and matches the specification.
• Keep detailed records for all builds and site activities.
• Ensure the resources needed to complete the works properly and on time are available when required.
• Support workplace health and safety management, including the use and implementation of safety manuals.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar discipline.
• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within the construction sector.
• Good knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and relevant legal requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to stay effective under pressure.
• Competence with construction management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A valid driving licence and the flexibility to travel to different sites when needed.
