नोकरीचे वर्णन
Role overview
The Consumption Based Billing & Licensing (CBBL) team is responsible for the core systems that determine what customers can access, what they have purchased, and how much they have used. This group owns the infrastructure that powers licensing, entitlements, and usage-based billing for Asana’s newer products and add-ons, helping ensure paid features are granted correctly, usage is measured accurately, and administrators have transparent tools to manage accounts.
As Asana continues to broaden its product offerings and pricing approaches, the systems built by this team play a direct role in both business growth and the customer experience around purchased value.
Work location and schedule
This position is based in Vancouver and follows an office-centric hybrid schedule. The usual in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most employees may work from home on Wednesdays. Friday work-from-home flexibility depends on the work involved and the teams you collaborate with. A recruiter will provide any additional detail during the interview process.
What you will do
- Guide and develop an engineering team working across backend services, platform infrastructure, and customer-facing product experiences.
- Define the technical approach and help steer the roadmap for billing and licensing capabilities.
- Work closely with Product, Design, Data, Finance, Sales, and other engineering groups to convert unclear business needs into delivered solutions.
- Drive delivery for initiatives involving access and licensing control, usage metering and billing, administrative dashboards and alerts, mass and automated license assignment, and trial/add-on setup flows.
- Balance scalability, reliability, correctness, and delivery speed when making technical decisions.
- Coach engineers, support their growth, and foster a strong team environment.
- Communicate effectively with senior partners and translate technical choices into language that is easy for business stakeholders to understand.
What you should bring
- Substantial engineering management experience, ideally leading a team through complex product and platform initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with finance-adjacent systems such as billing, monetization, entitlements, payments, or other infrastructure-heavy domains.
- Comfort leading work through uncertainty while coordinating multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
- Strong technical decision-making skills, including confidence discussing architecture, data structures, APIs, and reliability concerns.
- A history of hiring, coaching, and growing engineers.
- A practical communication style and strong collaboration skills across functions.
- A product-oriented mindset and interest in how technology enables new business models.
Preferred background
- Exposure to usage-based or consumption-based pricing.
- Experience with SaaS billing, licensing, or entitlement platforms.
- Experience building administrative tools or operational dashboards for customers.
- Background in platform engineering, backend systems, or distributed systems.
- Experience in a fast-paced product organization where requirements evolve frequently.
Compensation and benefits
The estimated annual base salary range for this role is CAD 238,000 to CAD 270,000. Actual pay depends on factors such as market conditions and the candidate’s qualifications, as assessed during the interview process. The stated range is a guideline and may change.
