Retail Security Officer

Role overview

Mitie is hiring a Retail Security Officer to help create a secure and welcoming shopping environment while delivering strong service to customers and colleagues. The goal is to reduce fear of crime and support safety across the store.

The position offers a pay rate of £13.23 per hour. Working patterns will involve a range of shifts, which will be confirmed during the interview.

Key duties

• Provide high-quality customer service at all times.
• Help prevent violence and public order incidents.
• Carry out patrols around the store premises.
• Use CCTV systems to help reduce theft and stock loss.
• Work closely with store management teams.
• Coordinate with police and local crime partnership teams when needed to strengthen store safety.
• Wear body-worn CCTV equipment to support crime reduction and improve the safety of staff and shoppers.

Vetting and suitability

A current SIA licence or SIA certificates is preferred, although licence training may be arranged in some cases. Applicants must also be able to provide a continuous 5-year checkable history of employment and/or education. If this cannot be verified, any offer may be withdrawn or employment may end.
