About the Role

This position calls for a research-driven machine learning scientist who can help create fresh approaches for ambitious product goals. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in NLP, speech, and/or computer vision, with a strong emphasis on deep learning. You should keep up with current research and use creativity and strong judgment to design solutions that fit the problem at hand.

Responsibilities

• Advance machine learning models across multiple modalities.
• Contribute throughout the ML workflow, including model design, data preparation, evaluation, training and inference systems, research, and experimentation.
• Identify promising ideas from the research community to pursue, and develop new methods when existing ones are not enough to meet the company’s goals.

Required Qualifications

• Comfort working independently in environments where priorities or requirements may be unclear.
• Experience publishing papers in NLP, speech, or computer vision, especially work involving large-scale deep learning.
• Strong familiarity with the current state of the art in artificial intelligence.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
• Background working on products.
• Prior experience in a startup setting.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $190K to $320K.
