Quality Assurance Analyst

Role Overview

This full-time onsite QA Analyst position is based in Tallahassee, Florida, supporting the Florida Department of Health. The role sits within an Agile software delivery setting and focuses on assuring the quality of enterprise applications across the full software development lifecycle. The selected professional will validate both new and existing systems through manual and automated testing, with attention to performance, security, compliance, and overall reliability. Day-to-day work will involve close coordination with developers, business users, and other stakeholders to help deliver dependable software.

Core Responsibilities

• Create, run, and update manual and automated test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and mobile solutions.
• Study business and technical requirements to shape thorough testing approaches and protect application quality.
• Carry out functional, regression, integration, performance, load, and scalability testing.
• Build and maintain automation scripts with Selenium, Cucumber, Maven, and related frameworks.
• Set up, manage, and support CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Run load and performance tests with JMeter and interpret the outcomes.
• Log, organize, rank, and monitor defects through to closure while partnering with development teams.
• Complete post-release and post-implementation checks to confirm production deployments.
• Keep accurate records of test documentation, defect logs, test plans, change requests, and quality measures.
• Work alongside developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders throughout Agile delivery.
• Take part in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and related Agile ceremonies.
• Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis when production issues occur.
• Share progress, risks, defects, and quality results with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support data validation, system integration efforts, and continuous software quality improvements across enterprise applications.
• Be available occasionally after hours for releases and urgent production issues.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a similar discipline; equivalent experience is also acceptable.
• At least 7 years of QA experience in an Agile software development environment.
• At least 5 years of experience with Azure DevOps, Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), or Team Foundation Server (TFS).
• At least 5 years of experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• At least 5 years of experience applying DevSecOps practices and automated testing.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting healthcare applications.
• Hands-on experience building and running automated tests with Selenium and Cucumber.
• Experience working with Maven repositories and IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse.
• Experience with load and performance testing using JMeter.
• Strong knowledge of Test-Driven Development, SDLC, QA methods, and Agile principles.
• Experience preparing test plans, test cases, defect records, and quality reporting.
• Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, communication skills, and documentation skills.

Preferred Experience

• DevOps Foundation Certification or a higher-level certification.
• Exposure to SoapUI, Selenium Suite, HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT), LoadRunner, or HP Performance Center.
• Background supporting enterprise healthcare or public sector systems.
• Understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, and modern testing practices.
