Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator

Role overview

Dawn Aerospace is seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator to support purchasing, inventory control, logistics, and material coordination across both the In-Space Propulsion and Spaceplane programs. This position focuses on the operational side of day-to-day procurement and stock management, helping sure the engineering and production teams receive the materials they need on time while strengthening inventory accuracy, purchasing quality, and operational efficiency as the business expands.

You will partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and procurement teams throughout the organisation. The role is practical and hands-on, combining procurement administration, ERP system tasks, inventory coordination, logistics support, and warehouse-related work. It suits someone who is organised, adaptable, and comfortable taking responsibility in a fast-paced environment rather than someone looking for a highly rigid role.

Key responsibilities

• Create and track purchase orders, including follow-up with suppliers on deliveries and outstanding items.
• Process purchasing and inventory transactions in ERP systems.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks across ISP NZ and SPL operations.
• Help keep inventory records accurate, including stock locations and item visibility.
• Support consumable inventory areas and replenishment processes that operate in a supermarket-style setup.
• Assist with receiving, handling goods, and moving materials around the warehouse or site.
• Coordinate freight and shipment activity, including related administration.
• Prepare or support customs and shipping documentation when needed.
• Help maintain supplier records and purchasing data.
• Work with operational teams to refine and improve purchasing and inventory workflows.
• Coordinate shared processes and operational needs across In-Space Propulsion and Spaceplane teams.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership with minimal oversight.
• Confidence working across procurement, logistics, inventory, and operational support tasks.
• A practical approach with the ability to improve processes while keeping everyday operations running smoothly.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
• Prior exposure to ERP systems, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, or logistics work is preferred.
• Interest in manufacturing, aerospace, engineering, or fast-growing technology environments would be an advantage.
