Production Operator - Permanent Contract - 2 Cycle Shift

Role overview

Abbott is hiring a Production Operator for its Clonmel, County Tipperary site on a permanent contract. The role is part of a 2-cycle shift pattern running Monday to Friday across day and evening shifts.

What the role involves

This position supports electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly work on products and sub-assemblies. The role also includes operating automatic or semi-automatic equipment and carrying out related production tasks such as labelling packs and adding data sheets to product.

Key duties

• Carry out assembly, repair, inspection and testing activities in line with written work instructions.
• Set up and run manufacturing machines or equipment using instructions provided in English.
• Clean tools and equipment according to documented procedures and record information on approved forms.
• Dispose of hazardous waste in the designated waste areas.
• Identify routine issues, suggest basic improvements and support training of colleagues when required.
• Keep required certifications current to remain compliant.
• Complete assigned work each day within schedule, following supervisor guidance on task priorities.
• Handle straightforward problems using established procedures while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Follow all relevant corporate and divisional policies and procedures.

About the Clonmel vascular division

Abbott Vascular in Clonmel is part of the company’s vascular care business. The division develops technologies for vessel closure, endovascular and coronary applications that support the treatment of heart, carotid artery and peripheral vascular disease.

Education and profile
