Role Summary
The pre-opening cafe manager will lead the setup and day-to-day running of a new in-house cafe at The Smile Restore Dental Clinics in Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana. This is a full-time, on-site position focused on launching operations, building efficient processes, coordinating with suppliers, and working with management to shape the menu. The role also involves ensuring hygiene and safety compliance, supervising and training staff, delivering strong customer service, and overseeing food and beverage service. In addition, the manager will handle scheduling, stock control, cash management, sales tracking, and performance reporting for clinic leadership. Close coordination with the clinic team will be essential to create a smooth and enjoyable experience for patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the cafe for launch by organizing operational workflows and daily service procedures.
- Coordinate with suppliers to support stocking, sourcing, and timely delivery of products and supplies.
- Work with management to develop and refine menu offerings.
- Maintain compliance with hygiene, food safety, and general health and safety standards.
- Recruit, guide, supervise, and train cafe staff to deliver consistent service.
- Lead customer service activities, respond to guest questions, and resolve concerns professionally.
- Oversee food and beverage service and ensure smooth service flow throughout the day.
- Monitor sales, support revenue goals, and report performance results to clinic leadership.
- Manage staff scheduling, inventory levels, and cash-handling processes.
- Collaborate with the dental clinic team to ensure a pleasant experience for patients and visitors.
Candidate Profile
- Experience providing excellent customer service and communicating clearly with guests and colleagues.
- Practical knowledge of food and beverage operations, including service standards, menu execution, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to support sales efforts, promote menu items, and contribute to revenue targets.
- Background in managing a cafe, restaurant, or similar food service outlet, ideally within hospitality or healthcare.
- Capability to lead teams, train staff, manage rosters, and foster a positive work culture.
- Understanding of food safety rules and basic workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong organization, time management, stock control, and cash management skills.
- Diploma or relevant certification in hospitality, business management, or a related discipline; barista or food safety certification is a plus.
