नोकरीचे वर्णन
Role overview
You will join a long-established public sector body that delivers important services to the local community. The environment is collaborative and supportive, with a clear emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and ongoing improvement.
What the role involves
As the Payroll & Pensions Officer, you will be accountable for running a complete monthly payroll cycle for around 400 staff members, ensuring it is processed accurately and on time. You will manage all payroll activities, maintain compliance with legal and statutory obligations, and oversee pension administration, including auto-enrolment and re-enrolment tasks. You will also serve as the main contact for payroll and pension questions, offering a prompt and professional service to employees and internal stakeholders.
What you will need
To succeed in this position, you should bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience managing payroll from start to finish, together with a strong grasp of pension administration and auto-enrolment rules. A good working knowledge of HMRC requirements, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work independently to tight deadlines are important. Clear communication skills are essential because you will be the central contact for payroll and pension queries across the organisation. Experience in the public sector and a recognised payroll qualification such as CIPP would be an advantage.
