Role Overview
This is a manager-level, full-time position based onsite in the Greater Melbourne Area. The role focuses on designing and executing strategic communication programs that help corporate clients manage the expectations of shareholders and other stakeholders. The consultant will prepare and refine press releases and company announcements, shape key messages and communication plans, and coordinate communication activities across multiple channels.
Key Work Areas
- Plan and deliver strategic communications initiatives for corporate clients.
- Draft, edit, and polish press releases, announcements, and related materials.
- Build messaging frameworks and communication plans tailored to client needs.
- Coordinate communication activity across different channels and project streams.
- Lead projects, work closely with internal teams and client stakeholders, and keep deliverables on track.
- Monitor media coverage and market developments to inform client advice.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and other client-facing materials.
- Contribute to thought leadership content and practical guidance based on communications best practices.
Required Background and Skills
Candidates should have strong corporate communications abilities, including the capacity to explain complex topics clearly to varied audiences. Experience in strategic communications and press release development is important, along with solid project management skills to handle several client assignments at once and meet deadlines. Prior exposure to corporate, financial, or professional services environments is useful, and familiarity with shareholder or governance-related work is an added advantage. The role also calls for excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders in a fast-moving environment. A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Journalism, or a related discipline is required, and postgraduate study is considered beneficial. Comfort using data-based insights, media monitoring tools, standard office software, and digital communication platforms is also desirable.
