नोकरीचे वर्णन
About the Company
carGO Health is a specialized medical courier provider operating around the clock, every day of the year, with a focus on fast, dependable, and patient-focused last-mile logistics for the healthcare sector. The company is expanding quickly and needs an Operations/Logistics Manager who can take complete responsibility for daily execution and help grow the logistics operation.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on, proactive logistics leadership role centered on running courier operations, coordinating dispatch, managing drivers, and communicating with clients. It goes far beyond a basic dispatcher position: you will act as a strategic operations partner to the CEO, strengthening the team, improving service standards, and building a system that can scale as demand increases.
Direct Partnership with the CEO
The CEO will personally train the selected candidate on the company’s proprietary logistics platform and then transfer day-to-day operational ownership. The role includes dispatching orders, handling client updates, and building a dependable network of independent contractor couriers.
What You Will Own
- Coordinate client orders accurately and keep the fulfillment process moving efficiently.
- Communicate with clients regarding delivery progress and order status.
- Find, onboard, and maintain relationships with independent courier contractors.
- Oversee daily courier activity, from assigning drivers through delivery completion.
- Make smart dispatch decisions based on timing, special instructions, and driver availability, not only distance.
- Take responsibility for each order from the moment it is placed until it is successfully delivered.
- Use tools and systems to remove repetitive work, improve throughput, and simplify workflows.
- Review daily deliveries for accuracy and service quality.
- Handle client questions quickly and professionally by phone and email.
- Look for operational gaps and implement improvements continuously.
- Track driver availability, order flow, and shift handoffs so coverage remains seamless.
- Lead operations with a proactive, business-owner mindset.
Availability and Accountability
You will serve as the main dispatcher and operations lead during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm Eastern Time. Because the business runs 24/7/365, you are also expected to remain available on call outside those hours when urgent issues come up.
You will manage the other dispatchers currently in place, including one overnight dispatcher, and remain accountable for every order each day whether or not you are actively scheduled. If an issue, escalation, or service failure occurs after hours, you are expected to step in, resolve it, and restore stable operations.
The position is centered on leadership, responsibility, and ownership rather than simply completing a shift.
Requirements
- Prior experience hiring and supervising independent contractors is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in logistics, dispatch operations, fleet management, healthcare courier services, or a closely related area.
- Strong ability to solve problems and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Comfort with technology and the ability to learn dispatch and logistics platforms quickly.
- Clear, professional communication skills in both written and verbal form.
- A strong ownership mindset with the ability to identify and solve issues without constant direction.
- Must be based in the New York City metropolitan area and able to meet and train drivers in person near or at client locations.
Additional Information
This role requires hands-on operational leadership in a 24/7/365 healthcare logistics environment. The selected candidate will be expected to help build a scalable logistics engine that can support a much larger client base as the company continues to grow.
