Role summary
HotelCare is seeking a Linen Porter to support daily linen handling and guest service operations at Hilton Edinburgh Carlton in Edinburgh, Scotland. In this role, you will help keep linen supplies organised, respond to guest needs, and contribute to the hotel’s service standards.
Reporting line and working pattern
You will report to the Line Manager and have no direct reports. The role involves working 0 to 40 hours per week, including some weekends.

Role overview
As a Linen Porter, you will play an important part in keeping linen operations running smoothly. Your work will involve managing stock, arranging deliveries and distribution, handling guest requests promptly, and helping maintain the standards that support an enjoyable stay for guests.
Key duties
- Track linen stock, organise incoming deliveries, process orders, and make sure linen is issued and distributed correctly.
- Follow health and safety procedures, report concerns quickly, and look after linen-related equipment.
- Store linen correctly and help maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Assist guests politely and deal with requests or concerns in a timely manner.
- Work closely with colleagues to support cleanliness goals and maintain a positive team environment.
- Carry out instructions from supervisors and managers relating to cleaning schedules and assigned tasks.
Candidate profile
Previous experience in a comparable role, especially in a hotel, resort, or wider hospitality setting, is an advantage but not essential. Knowledge of linen processes such as sorting, folding, and distribution will also be helpful.

You may be asked to work additional or different hours from those originally notified, and to take on other reasonable duties as needed to support the company and its clients.
Working conditions
This position requires physical capability for lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. You should also be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, handling pressure, staying organised, and adapting to changing needs.
