About the internship
About the Internship
This internship offers hands-on experience managing the ChromaDB embedding pipeline that organizes retail-related documents such as standard operating procedures, sales briefs, brand guidelines, and operational manuals. The intern will implement and assess retrieval methods including Maximal Marginal Relevance (MMR), hybrid search combining BM25 and vector search techniques, alongside metadata-based filtering. They will also enhance the Hermes catalog builder by integrating new ClickHouse database views into ChromaDB collections. Additional responsibilities consist of constructing ground-truth question-answer datasets, measuring performance using recall and precision metrics across various document types, and developing dynamic system prompts to facilitate large language model (LLM) answer generation while maintaining effective context and citation control. The ultimate goal is improving the efficiency and accuracy of the retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) system that powers the Hermes business intelligence assistant.

The internship is open to applicants who can commit to in-office full-time engagement from mid-August to mid-September 2026, continuing for a full three-month period.
