Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Inventory Clerk position based in Kanchrapara, West Bengal. The person in this role will keep track of stock for supplies and materials, maintain accurate inventory records, and carry out routine physical stock checks. The position also includes accepting deliveries, cross-checking received items with purchase orders, arranging storage areas neatly, coordinating replenishment with other departments, documenting incoming and outgoing goods, flagging mismatches, and helping control costs through disciplined stock handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory levels for supplies and materials on a regular basis.
- Update stock records and maintain accurate documentation.
- Perform frequent physical counts to verify inventory accuracy.
- Receive deliveries and confirm quantities against purchase orders.
- Organize storerooms and storage spaces in a systematic way.
- Work with different departments to ensure items are replenished when needed.
- Keep clear records for shipping and receiving activities.
- Identify and report stock discrepancies promptly.
- Support cost-control initiatives through careful inventory management.
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving workflows, including inspection of incoming items, delivery documentation, and coordination of outgoing goods.
- Hands-on exposure to physical stock checks, reconciliation of records, and arrangement of storerooms or warehouse spaces.
- Working knowledge of inventory control practices such as stock tracking, discrepancy detection, and basic stock management methods.
- Good communication skills for interacting with suppliers, coworkers, and managers, and for reporting issues clearly.
- Basic computer skills, including the use of inventory tools, spreadsheets, and email for records and reporting.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
- Capability to stand, move around, and lift moderate weights as part of hotel inventory work.
- Prior experience in inventory, stores, or warehouse operations is preferred; hospitality background is an added advantage.
- High school education or an equivalent qualification; further training in logistics, inventory management, or a related area is useful.
