GCP Billing with FinOps

About the role

This opportunity is for a GCP Billing and FinOps professional based in Chennai or Gandhinagar. The position involves taking ownership of billing-related investigations on Google Cloud Platform, connecting usage patterns with cost outcomes, and supporting financial analysis across cloud consumption.

Key responsibilities

• Own billing and cost investigations from start to finish for GCP environments.
• Build a solid understanding of Google Cloud services from a billing standpoint.
• Work with GCP pricing approaches such as usage-based pricing, committed use discounts, sustained use discounts, and regional pricing.
• Translate technical usage into clear financial impact and cost outcomes.
• Review invoices, usage reports, credits, and adjustments to identify cost drivers.
• Use billing tools and cost management dashboards effectively.
• Write SQL queries for BigQuery billing export analysis.
• Understand IAM concepts, project hierarchy, and governance controls.
• Maintain strong documentation and audit-ready records.

Requirements

• B.Tech / B.E. in any specialization, ideally with exposure to IT plus finance or economics concepts.
• 4 to 10 years of overall experience.
• Background in Cloud Support, Billing Operations, FinOps, or Financial Analysis for around 12 years as mentioned in the source note.
• Practical knowledge of FinOps tools and workflows.
• Familiarity with GCP Billing Professional certification, if applicable.
• Google Cloud Digital Leader and Associate Cloud Engineer certifications are mentioned as expected qualifications.
