About the Role

This position is for an aviation specialist who will strengthen the Safety team by carrying out detailed analysis within the Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) programme.

The job focuses on turning operational flight data into safety intelligence by identifying risks, recurring trends, and performance exceedances through careful processing, validation, and interpretation of flight data.

You will handle scheduled and one-off analysis work, set and maintain event definitions and thresholds, check triggers against supporting data, and prioritise events according to risk level and recurrence in line with escalation procedures.

The role also supports investigations and safety risk reviews by rebuilding events from data and comparing statistics across fleets, routes, and operating conditions.

A strong emphasis is placed on data governance, confidentiality, traceability of analytical methods, data quality monitoring, audit support, and ongoing improvement of the FDM programme.

What You Will Do

• Perform both regular and ad-hoc analysis of flight operational data.
• Identify safety concerns, performance exceptions, and operational patterns from monitored data.
• Configure, update, and maintain event definitions and alert thresholds.
• Verify triggers using relevant supporting data sources.
• Rank and escalate events based on recurrence and level of risk.
• Assist with investigations and safety risk assessments through data reconstruction.
• Compare performance data across aircraft fleets, routes, and operating scenarios.
• Maintain confidentiality, data integrity, and clear traceability of analysis work.
• Support audits and help improve the effectiveness of the FDM programme.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant holds a degree and brings at least 3 years of experience in aviation safety analytics, FDM/FOQA, flight operations analysis, or a similar safety or quality role in a regulated environment.

Hands-on experience with FDM/FOQA systems and the preparation of safety trend reports is required.

Additional value will be given to candidates with training in Flight Data Analysis (FDA), Safety Management Systems (SMS), safety risk management principles, and data analysis or visualisation tools.
