FDC Group is hiring a qualified financial consultant for its Skibbereen, County Cork office. The business is built around strong local roots and long-standing client relationships, supporting businesses, farms, families, and individuals across the community.

This position suits someone who enjoys developing trusted relationships, supporting an established client portfolio, and also helping attract new business. The role involves working with clients in the region and travelling to nearby offices when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a full range of financial planning options, including investment, pension, savings, and protection solutions tailored to their needs.
• Look after an existing client base while also expanding relationships with both new and current clients across the area.
• Spot financial planning needs, convert opportunities into new business, and help deliver performance goals.
• Provide high-quality, professional guidance that matches each client’s individual circumstances.
• Carry out detailed fact-finding discussions to assess a client’s finances, current arrangements, future objectives, and attitude to risk.
• Help improve administrative workflows by sharing feedback and working closely with support teams.
• Continue professional development by attending tutorials and seminars to maintain accreditation.
• Update management and support staff on activity levels, business targets, and meetings completed.
• Stay current with financial products and relevant legislation.
• Keep line managers and directors informed about operational matters.
• Meet or exceed agreed business targets while complying with required standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Must hold QFA status or be actively working towards it.
• Strong communication skills, both over the phone and in writing.
• Shows a genuine desire to learn, improve, and contribute to the company’s development.
• Works in a structured way and can prioritise an active workload effectively.
• Takes responsibility for maintaining constructive relationships with colleagues, management, and partners.
• Demonstrates initiative and a results-driven approach.
• Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships across the business.
• Previous sales experience in a brokerage or similar environment would be an advantage.
