Facilities Manager

Role Overview

This position is for a Facilities Manager based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The role focuses on overseeing engineering services, coordinating handovers and commissioning activities, and ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of facility systems.

Maintenance Responsibilities

• Build and carry out preventive maintenance plans so all engineering systems remain in reliable working condition.
• Track energy usage and introduce practical measures to reduce consumption and improve efficiency.
• Oversee stores and consumables related to the 400 TR York chiller, CCTV, firefighting setup, public address system, and diesel generator.
• Carry out performance checks on MEP systems and review them against the prescribed checklist.
• Support MEP commissioning activities in line with design documents, BOQ requirements, and tender specifications.
• Deliver technical training to MEP staff to improve site capability and system understanding.
• Compile and review Engineering MIS reports for operational monitoring and decision-making.

Coordination and Planning

• Liaise with project and design teams for upcoming buildings or cinemas and prepare detailed handover documentation.
• Work with external technical auditors and implement improvements to strengthen system performance.
• Ensure proper transfer of MEP systems from the project team to operations.
• Coordinate with third-party commissioning agencies and service contractors to integrate all building services smoothly.
• Plan manpower requirements, assign engineering and facilities tasks, and guide the team on important activities as needed.
• Conduct internal technical audits to assess system performance and staff capability.
• Manage routine communication with contractors and consultants, identify their requirements, and assess possible solutions effectively.

Required Skills and Expertise

The role calls for strong knowledge of CAD drawings, system evaluation, quality control, and technical supervision. It also requires solid communication, teamwork, administration, and general management skills, along with familiarity with building codes, standards, computers, electronics, and disciplined control of specialized trade teams.
